The Firm was founded in November 1973 as Ibrahim, Tan & Abdullah. In 1975, Datuk Nik Hussain Bin Nik Ali joined the Firm and the Firm changed its name to Nik Hussain, Ibrahim, Tan & Abdullah. Since those humble beginnings, the Firm has since relocated to its present location at the 27th Floor of Menara KH (formerly known as Menara Promet) and has been renamed Nik Hussain & Partners. 

As at 1st January 2021, Datuk Nik Hussain bin Nik Ali and Ms Chan Mo Lin have become Consultants of the Firm. The Partners of the Firm are currently Dato’ Yeap Yu Lin, Mr Chong Yew Kong, Mr Foo Sek Jek, Ms Loo Poey Teng, Mr Tan Kok Thong, Ms Vivian Kuan Hui Xian, Mr Loo Kai Teik and Ms Katherina Karvin Wee Su Yen.

The Partners are supported by five (5) Associates and another thirty (30) members of Staff; all of which have vast experience and expertise in their areas of specialisation.

NHP has 3 main areas of practice; namely Corporate & Banking, Litigation and Real Estate. Besides these areas of practice, NHP also has a Trademark and Intellectual Property practice and provides company secretarial services.

NHP’s core focus, expertise and strength are in the areas of capital market transactions, litigation, commercial banking and conveyancing with an added focus on Islamic Finance.

Notably, NHP was shortlisted as Dispute Resolution Boutique Law Firm of the Year by the Asian Legal Business Malaysia Law Awards 2020 in recognition of the Firm’s achievements and accomplishments in the litigation arena.
